SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Two people have been charged with assaulting and robbing one of their friends as they were on the way to a local restaurant.

According to the police report, Chester Wayne Johnson, 33, of Westlake, LA, Cassey Nicole Stewart, 33, of 1st St., Salisbury, and Wesley Biggers, 59, were walking to Applebee's on Wednesday afternoon when they got into an argument.

Police say Johnson and Stewart pushed Biggers to the ground and took his wallet, $320, and a debit card.  The two then ran away.

Police responded quickly and spotted Johnson and Stewart at the construction site for the new Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant off Faith Road.

When the officer came into contact with Stewart she was sweating and out of breath, and told the officer that she had been exercising.

Johnson was charged with common law robbery and assault on a handicapped person.  He was jailed under $10,000 bond.

Stewart faces the same charges and was jailed under $7500 bond.

Biggers, who is said to suffer from Parkinsons Disease, was not injured.
