LENOIR, NC (WBTV) - A Lenoir man accused of kidnapping a woman and her one-year-old daughter was taken into custody Wednesday night.
The mother, 31-year-old Tiffany Leigh Primm, and the young girl, Rylee Scott Watson, were found safe after allegedly being abducted by 31-year-old Zachary Scott Watson.
Lenoir police say Primm's mother called them around 5:18 p.m. Wednesday about a potential kidnapping of her daughter and granddaughter from Jason Place in Lenoir, which sparked an AMBER Alert.
Police say Primm and her daughter were traveling in a black Toyota Tundra when Zachary Watson took them against their will at gunpoint. It happened on Jason Place in Lenoir.
Officials said they were possibly traveling eastbound toward Mooresville or Wilkesboro.
Around 8:45 p.m., the Toyota was located at a gas station near I-40 in Mocksville, North Carolina, where the girl and her mother were found safe. Zachary Watson fled on foot but was caught a short time later and brought to the Lenoir Police Department for felony processing.
Zachary Watson faces first-degree kidnapping charges.
"During the investigation, officers learned that the victim and suspect were involved in a past relationship," police say.
If you have any additional information regarding the abduction, call the Lenior Police Department immediately at 828-757-2100, or call 911 or *HP.
