Richmond County, NC (WBTV) - A man was charged with killing two people in Richmond County, deputies said Tuesday.
Deputies say Katherine and Joseph Cassidy were killed on Sunday, Aug. 20 on Lee Thee Church Road, between Rockingham and Ellerbe. Christopher Robson, 44, is accused of committing the crime in front of a child.
Investigators say Robson was wanted for taking two guns from a family member and was later arrested for fleeing from deputies. During the investigation, Robson was identified as a suspect in the killing of Katherine and Joseph Cassidy.
He was later charged with two counts of murder, discharging a barreled weapon into an occupied vehicle and committing an assault with a deadly weapon with a minor child present.
Robson was also charged with larceny of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony flee to elude arrest and resisting a public officer.
He was given no bond for the murder charges and a $150,000 secured bond for the other charges.
