Man missing near uptown Charlotte found safe, reunited with family

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte say a man reported missing Thursday was found safe and reunited with family.

Steven Bernard Mackey, 54, was reported missing after he was last seen walking away from the area of N. Davidson Street and 28th Street, just northeast of uptown, around 5:30 p.m.. 

Police said Mackey has been diagnosed with cognitive issues and needs supervision. There was concern that he may have been lost in the area.

Officials said just before 11 p.m. that Mackey had been found by police officers in the area.

No further information was released.
