Suspects face charges in east Charlotte robbery, shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man was shot during a robbery in east Charlotte late Wednesday night.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they were called to an armed robbery around 11:19 p.m. in the 3400 block of Teal Point Drive. Officials arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Medic took him to Carolinas Medical Center in unknown condition.

Police attempted to stop the suspect vehicle a short time later but say the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a chase. The three suspects then jumped out and ran. Two of the suspects were caught and sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and the suspects face charges.
