Charter bus catches fire on side of I-85

GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

It is unclear what caused a charter bus to catch fire on the side of the interstate near the Gaston County line Wednesday evening. 

Witnesses told WBTV that the wreck occurred on Interstate 85 near Mcadenville.

According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the fire blocked the right lane of the road near Exit 24. NCDOT said the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. The road is expected to be clear around 7:30 p.m. 

MEDIC said no one was taken to the hospital.
