Lightning strike causes Huntersville house fire

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - A lightning strike is believed to have caused a house fire in Huntersville Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Huntersville Fire Department, the incident occurred at a home in the 7900 block of Leisure Lane.

A caller reported smoke was inside the attic, according to the fire department's Twitter. Crews on scene said a woman was home when the fire started and called 911.

The attic fire was controlled "quickly," crews said.

No one was hurt in the fire.
