Man charged in Rock Hill convenience store robbery

ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) - A man wanted in the robbery of a Rock Hill convenience store was arrested.

Police say 26-year-old Joshua Esskew, armed with a knife, went into the Kangaroo Express on Celanese Road around 2:49 p.m. and said he had a bomb.

He took an undisclosed amount of cash and took off in a silver Ford F-150.

Officers found the truck a short time later at an apartment on Riverview Road. Esskew was found nearby and charged with armed robbery and possession of a deadly weapon during a violent crime.

All the money was recovered.

Esskew also faces fraud charges from a July credit card investigation.

Esskew has a bond hearing at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
