CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Two people were robbed at gunpoint when two juveniles broke into their home in northwest Charlotte Saturday morning.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, two juveniles reportedly broke into a home in the 1400 block of Auten Road around 11:47 a.m.

The two juveniles demanded money from the victims, police say. One of the victims was struck in the head with a pistol and had his cell phone stolen, officers say.

Police say a second victim hit her head when she was forced on the floor by the robbers. The two victims were taken to the hospital.

Officers did not release the extent of the victim's injuries.

The two robbers reportedly left the home and then ran toward Grass Lane where police believe they fled the scene in a vehicle. The two robbers were taken into custody and placed in a juvenile detention facility, police said.

According to police, "DJJDP issued Secure Custody Orders for both suspects due to their criminal history."
