CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A car crashed into a power pole in the University City area and caused power outages for hundreds of residents in northeast Charlotte Sunday morning.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, a car crashed into a power pole and brought down several power lines on Pavilion Boulevard around 12:30 a.m.
Police say the driver fled from the area before they arrived. Officers say they are searching for the driver.
No injuries were reported.
It is unclear what caused the crash.
According to Duke Energy, power is expected to be restored by 9:45 a.m.
