HICKORY, NC (WBTV) - A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Hickory Saturday morning has been arrested.
According to the Hickory Police Department, the shooting occurred around 12:37 a.m. at a home in the 1700 block of 16th Street NE. Police said 37-year-old Roberto Beltran was found in the home with multiple gunshot wounds.
Beltran died on scene, police say.
Manuel Villarreal Jr., 30, was arrested in Morganton and charged with murder in the case Sunday. A warrant for murder was issued for Villarreal Saturday, according to police.
Villarreal was served additional outstanding warrants.
Police say this shooting was not random.
Villarreal is being held at the Catawba County Detention Facility without bond.
