ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A man who reportedly stabbed two people in Rockingham County was shot by a law enforcement officer Thursday.
According to the Eden Police Department, the stabbing occurred at the Brownstone Commons apartments on Georgia Avenue in Eden around 2:30 p.m.
Police said a 44-year-old woman and 7-year-old were both stabbed. Officers then set up a perimeter around the surrounding neighborhood to attempt to locate the man who allegedly stabbed the two people.
A man was found matching the description of the stabber and was then reportedly shot by a law enforcement officer during a confrontation, police said.
The accused stabber was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, officers say.
Police say the two victims were also taken to the hospital due to their injuries. No information was released on the extent of the man's or the victims' injuries.
