A woman was arrested in Union County after deputies say she crashed her vehicle while trying to escape being pulled over Thursday.

The incident began when deputies tried to pull over 29-year-old Ashley Tyson, who they say didn't have a tag on the vehicle and was driving erratically. Instead of stopping, officials say Tyson tried to take off but crashed into to separate vehicles on Highway 74 and Sunset Drive in Monroe.

According to the deputies, Tyson then tried to run away on foot but was apprehended. She was charged with fleeing to elude, possession of schedule II, two counts of hit and run, and several other traffic violations.
