CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man is in custody following a SWAT situation in Charlotte's University City area Wednesday morning.

The scene unfolded around 2:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Potenza Drive. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a woman called and said her relative's boyfriend, who was possibly armed, would not let her relative and her children out of the home.

The barricaded suspect, later identified as 40-year-old Corey Seburn, surrendered peacefully around 9 a.m., CMPD says.

The four people inside the home were not harmed, police say. Nearby residents were relocated as a precaution.

Seburn was taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office to face charges.
