Title:  Salisbury Police Department Receives Crime Reduction Training from National Experts.

The Salisbury Police Department received training on Monday August 14, 2017 from national crime reduction experts Dr. Rachel and Roberto Santos regarding the Stratified Policing crime reduction model. Stratified Policing is a proven organizational model for crime reduction which places an emphasis on problem solving, crime analysis, and accountability at all levels within the police department. Dr. Rachel and Roberto Santos are the creators of this model which received the 2008 International Association Chiefs of Police award for excellence in law enforcement research. The goal of this training is to discuss the applicability of the problem solving process and accountability procedures as well as present relevant analytical products that can immediately be used to implement crime reduction strategies in Salisbury.

"This crime reduction model is easily adaptable to our police department because it makes use of our existing structures and will be immediately implemented to reduce crime" stated Police Chief Jerry Stokes. "The implementation of Stratified Policing will be led by Major Shon Barnes who is experienced with this model." "This is another great step toward our vision of improved safety and services to our citizens".
