CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV ) - A Hudson man with a history of felony convictions was sentenced to at least seven years in prison after a Caldwell County jury found him guilty Friday.
Thomas Victor Rinehart Jr., 46, and a co-defendant, Jason Richard Setser, broke into a rental home in July 2015 and stole various items including furniture, light fixtures and pipes, court documents say. Caldwell County Sheriff's Office said they found their stash in a wooded area. Some of the items were returned to the property owners.
The break-in resulted in extensive damage to the rental property.
In addition to the 2015 crime, Rhinehart has been previously convicted for breaking and entering and selling marijuana among other charges that occurred in Caldwell County between 1998 and 2008.
Setser pleaded guilty to the crime and is in custody.
