First Alert: Showers, thunderstorms possible for PGA Championship on Sunday

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

While many of us ended up being lucky and dry on Saturday, Sunday will be a bit more unsettled.

The atmosphere will contain a lot of moisture, similar to Saturday, which means it could result in another really humid day! Plus, a front will push into the WBTV viewing area, stall and spend most of the day with us.

The good news is that it won’t be an all-day wash out. Sunday morning looks to be cloudy but mainly dry. During Sunday afternoon, the front will be that extra trigger that we didn’t have Saturday and showers or thunderstorms may be possible. The biggest concern for Sunday will be the potential for heavy downpours.

If you have afternoon plans or if you are heading out to the PGA Championship, make sure you have the WBTV Weather app handy. You don’t need to cancel your plans, but just make sure you have a quick escape plan in case you see a downpour on the radar heading for Quail Hollow.
