CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man is wanted in connection with reportedly leading troopers on a chase and crashing in north Charlotte Saturday afternoon.

According to troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol, a driver of a gray Honda was fleeing from troopers around 2 p.m. on Interstate 77 near Brookshire Boulevard. The driver then drove onto LaSalle Street and Custer Street before ultimately striking a woman who was in a Ford Ranger.

The driver of the Honda fled the scene, troopers said. Two passengers who were also in the Honda were detained but have been released, Highway Patrol said.

Witnesses said a pedestrian was struck. According to MEDIC, one person was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-University with minor injuries.

Troopers are searching for the driver of the Honda who is believed to be a black male with short hair. The man was last seen wearing black clothes with purple shoes, Highway Patrol said.
