CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - An American Eagle flight that was headed to Charlotte from eastern North Carolina had to make an emergency landing in Raleigh Friday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson with American Airlines, flight 5355 was on its way to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport from the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport in New Bern. The flight was then diverted to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport and landed safely around 3:45 p.m.
The flight was diverted to due an indicator light in the cockpit which said there was a possible mechanical issue, the spokesperson said.
The plane was inspected and then headed back to Charlotte.
