Canada dry: Rowan girls smash Canada 16-1 in game two

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Rowan's big bats struck early and often on Thursday, sending the Canada team packing in the softball Little League World Series in Portland, Oregon, with a 16-1 win.

Rowan scored on a single by Brooke Kennerly, a single by Kendall Robinson, a single by Brooke Piper, a groundout by Bentli Meadows, and a groundout in the first inning.

Rowan scored eight runs in the fourth inning.

The big inning for Rowan came thanks to a single by Allie Burns, a single by Madelyn VonCanon, a error, a error, a walk by Karsen Simpson, a double, and a single by Ashlee Ennis.

Karsen earned the win for Rowan County. She tossed three and a third innings, giving up one run, one hit, and striking out one. 

Rowan collected ten hits. Emma Clarke and Madelyn each collected multiple hits for Rowan County's girls.

Rowan is now 2-0 in the tournament and will play the team from Bear, Delaware, on Friday at 4 pm Portland time, 7 pm local time.
