CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man wanted for second-degree murder in Rowan County is now facing additional charges after investigators say he skipped out on his court date.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said Destin Lamar Sloan did not show up for his court appearance. They say he turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday.

Sloan was arrested in July 2014 and charged with murder in the death of 39-year-old Kerry Gray.

Deputies said Monday that Sloan is known to carry a gun and say people should not have any contact with him.

When Sloan turned himself in Tuesday he was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $400,000 secured bond.

Anyone with information should contact their local 911 center. To remain anonymous and possibly collect a $1,000 reward, tips regarding Sloan can also be submitted 24/7 to the Salisbury-Rowan Crime stoppers website or by calling 1-866-639-5245.
