DENVER, NC (WBTV) - A Statesville man is wanted and accused of stealing lottery tickets from two east Lincoln County convenience stores Tuesday.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old Marcus Tyler Holloway allegedly stole scratch-off tickets, which were valued at $20, from the Sam's Mart convenience store in Denver around 5:30 a.m. The clerk told deputies she was cleaning the store when Holloway reportedly stole the tickets.
Deputies were then called to the Denver Mart around 8:30 a.m. for a report of stolen lottery tickets. In total, 45 lottery tickets were stolen from the store, the sheriff's office said.
Holloway then reportedly drove back to the Denver Mart on Wednesday when deputies tried to stop him. Deputies say Holloway fled the scene, but his vehicle was later found abandoned on Glen Crest Drive.
Holloway is wanted for obtaining property by false pretenses, but has multiple outstanding warrants in surrounding counties, the sheriff's office said.
If you have any information on Holloway's whereabouts, you're asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 704-732-9050.
