A suspected heroin distributor was arrested in Caldwell County Thursday.
According to the Caldwell County sheriff's Office, Dorian Rashad Ferguson, 30, was charged with felonious possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and maintaining a vehicle to keep and store a controlled substance.
Deputies say Ferguson was arrested after an undercover option where several grams of heroin were allegedly confiscated from his apartment on Legion Road in Hudson.
Sheriff Alan C. Jones released this statement Friday:
“Unfortunately we have seen a rise in Heroin abuse in our County. It is a highly addictive and deadly drug and the law enforcement community is concerned. We are taking every measure to combat the problem”.
Ferguson is also facing two counts of probation violations in North Carolina.
Ferguson was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond. Deputies say Ferguson is expected to have his first court appearance in Lenior on August 7.
