IREDELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

A Charlotte teen is facing more than 80 charges connected to a rash of vehicle break-ins that occurred over a month's time in Iredell County.

Kenneth Marcel Gregory, 17, is charged with 56 counts of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, 20 counts misdemeanor larceny, five counts larceny of a firearm, one count of felony larceny, and one count of larceny of a motor vehicle.

Deputies say the incidents occurred between May 16 and June 14 in the Troutman and Mooresville areas. Neighborhoods were targeted off of Perth Rd, State Park Rd, Shinnville Rd, Fern Hill Rd, and Rankinhill Rd.

Surveillance videos from several of the break-ins showed a suspect in a hooded jacket. Investigators say the burglar was looking for unlocked vehicles to steal from.

In one incident, the victim's credit card was stolen. Police worked with the victim and the victim's bank to identify a person, believed to be Gregory, who used the card at a Charlotte store hours after the burglary.

Gregory was then arrested and placed under a $200,000 bond.
