Woman accused of attacking brother with knife, found with meth

STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -

A Statesville woman is facing charges after police say she is accused of attacking her brother with a knife and was later found with methamphetamine.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home along Mason Dixon Lane in Statesville Saturday afternoon to a report of a woman with a knife and a man attempting to run someone over with a vehicle.

Deputies say they arrived and determined that Kristy Nicole Hastings, 26, had attempted to attack her brother with a knife. She was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

During her arrest, investigators found a plastic bag with methamphetamine inside. They also found a plastic bag of powder cocaine.

Investigators say the cocaine belonged to 28-year-old Eddie Ming Vang, of Stony Point. Vang was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and was charged with possession of cocaine and is being held on a $1,000 bond.

Hastings was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and possession of methamphetamine. She is being held on a $2,500 bond.?
