CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Larry Bailey was sitting in the Mecklenburg County jail Monday, charged with sexually assaulting two females when he got word that he's facing more charges.

A police source says a woman saw Bailey's mugshot in the news, called Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and told them he was the man who sexually assaulted her back in May. He's now facing first-degree kidnapping and first-degree forcible rape.

According to the police report, a 33-year-old woman told police a stranger raped her on Ellen Avenue. The report states the victim was treated at a hospital emergency room.

A source says the woman recognized Bailey's face when CMPD investigators held a news conference to discuss an arrest in two sex assault cases last week.

On Wednesday, July 19, a 17-year-old girl in Myers Park told police a man touched her inappropriately and tried to restrain her on Briarcliff Place. Police said the driver of a car got out and grabbed the teen, fondled her, and indicated he had a gun. The young woman was able to get away.

Two days later on Friday, July 21, a 28-year-old woman was jogging on East Boulevard in Dilworth when she said a man got out of a car and touched her inappropriately.

Officers said witnesses gave police a description of te suspect's car. Police, who were nearby, spotted the vehicle and arrested Bailey.

For the alleged assault on the 17-year-old in Myers Park, Bailey has been charged with first-degree force sex offense and first-degree kidnapping.

He's also charged with sexual battery for the attack on the jogger on East Boulevard.
