Four arrested in undercover Lincoln County drug bust

LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Four people were charged in a drug operation after one of the suspects contacted an undercover detective to sell drugs, deputies say. 

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office says a suspect offered to sell crack cocaine and marijuana to the detective and arranged a meeting spot. 

Detectives set up surveillance and once the suspects arrived, they sold the drugs to the undercover detective, deputies say. 

Myles Alexander Foote, 23, Martevis Jashawn Simpson, 22, Brandi Nicole Brown, 33, and Elizabeth Ann Hicks, 43, were all arrested in the case. 

Detectives say one of the suspects attempted to destroy and throw out cocaine into the grass nearby, which was retrieved. 

"Detectives seized several grams of cocaine, a small amount of heroin, and over 24 grams of marijuana during the undercover operation," deputies say. 

Foote was charged with one felony count each of sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, and possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance. He was also charged with two felony counts each of conspire to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance and conspire to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance. 

Simpson was charged with two felony counts each of conspire to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance and conspire to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance. He was also charged with one felony count each of possession of schedule II controlled substance and alter, destroy, steal evidence of criminal conduct.

Brown was charged with two felony counts each of conspire to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance and conspire to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance. She was also charged with one felony count each of possession of schedule I controlled substance and possession of schedule II controlled substance. She also received a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.  

Hicks was charged with two felony counts each of conspiring to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance and conspiring to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance. She was also charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Foote, Simpson and Brown each were given a $25,000 secured bond. Hicks was given a $20,00 bond.

    Wesley Chapel Fire Department battled a residential fire in Union County Tuesday night. Officials say flames were showing upon their arrival. The fire was extinguished within ten minutes, reports stated. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was called to assist the homeowner.
