SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Salisbury police say a woman pushed a 73-year-old man to the ground after he was at fault in a crash on Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Morlan Park Road and South Jake Alexander Boulevard.

Christina Renee Floyd, 35, of the 100 block of Ashley Road, was issued a written promise to appear in court on one count of misdemeanor assault.

According to the report, Floyd was the passenger in a vehicle driven by Shari Page when the vehicle was struck by the car being driven by Bobby Starnes.

Starnes ran a stop sign at the intersection, police said.

Police were called to the scene to investigate the accident and for a "verbal disturbance."

Officials said at some point during the argument Floyd pushed Starnes to the ground where he hit his head.

Starnes was treated and released from the hospital.
