CORNELIUS, NC (WBTV) -

Cornelius was approved Monday to begin earlier alcohol sales on Sundays.

The Brunch Bill was passed unanimously at the town board meeting Monday evening.

"I am happy we were able to provide this addition time for this service at our great restaurants in Cornelius," Mayor Pro Tem Woody Washam, Jr. said.

Cornelius marks the second Mecklenburg County town to pass the Brunch Bill, joining Huntersville.

Restaurants and retailers in Cornelius and Huntersville are now able to sell alcohol starting at 10 a.m. on Sundays, instead of noon.
