Pair arrested after man seen carrying rifle outside Chester County Waffle House

CHESTER COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

Two people were arrested after a man was seen carrying a long rifle in a Waffle House parking lot in Chester County. 

Waffle House employees told police they saw the man, later identified as 33-year-old Charles Burns, carrying a rifle in the parking lot before loading it into a car. 

The Waffle House is located in the 1700 block of J A Cochran Bypass. 

Deputies were able to pull the suspect car over a short time later on Dawson Drive at Vance Drive. The driver, identified as Akyra Castle, and the passenger, Burns, were arrested after police found the rifle and several other guns in the trunk of the car. 

A pistol found came back as being stolen out of Georgia. 

Burns was charged with attempted armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, pointing and presenting a firearm, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent felony and possession of a stolen firearm.

Castle was charged with DUI, attempted armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a stolen firearm.
