A mother is accused of having her daughter steal clothes from at least three Rock Hill stores for her.
Kimberly Lynch, 28, and her daughter were in Belk when an employee said the two went into the dressing room, packed a backpack full of clothing and left the store in separate directions.
According to a Rock Hill Police report, more than $500 worth of clothing was found stuffed in the backpack. Lynch’s daughter told officers she was the one stealing and her mom had nothing to do with the theft.
An officer went to Lynch’s car to get a car seat for a three-month-old baby that was with Lynch, so the baby could be taken to the Law Center with a victim’s advocate. When the officer went to the car, he found more clothes with tags on them that appeared to be stolen.
They admitted to taking $802.50 worth of clothes from JC Penny and $133.33 worth of clothes from Walmart.
Lynch is facing charges of shoplifting and three counts of unlawful conduct toward a child for have her daughter steal items.
