CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Three fires occurred within in a four-hour time span Sunday evening in Hickory and firefighters say two fires occurred nearly at the same time.

According to the Hickory Fire Department, firefighters were called to the first fire around 1:54 p.m. at Side Pocket Lounge, which is a dance and nightclub, on 12th Avenue Northeast. Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building.

The business was evacuated and firefighters were able to control the fire in 10 minutes. No one was hurt in the fire. Firefighters said the fire was accidental and may have been electrical related.

Nearly three hours later, the Hickory Fire Department then responded to a reported fire at Sherrill Furniture on Highland Avenue Northeast around 4:54 p.m. Employees directed firefighters to the "hog" room where light smoke was visible. Crews cut power and disconnected the machine so they could find the source of the smoke. Crews did not say what ultimately caused the smoke.

The business received minor damage, crews said.

The third fire was reported around 5:39 p.m. at a home on 41 14th Street Southeast. Crews said they were still responding to the fire located at the furniture store when this fire was called in.

Firefighters said a resident was still inside the home when they arrived. One person was rescued in the fire and taken to a nearby hospital by EMS, according to the Hickory Fire Department. Crews said no one was injured in the fire, but the person who was rescued was being treated for possible smoke inhalation, crews said.

The Hickory Fire Department was able to control the house fire in under 20 minutes. The fire caused minor damage to the home, firefighters say. It is unclear what started the house fire.
