CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - No one was hurt when a dump truck wrecked in southwest Charlotte Saturday afternoon.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, the driver of the dump truck lost control of the vehicle around 3:30 p.m. on the Westinghouse Boulevard exit ramp at southbound Interstate 77.
Police say the driver of the truck went off the left side of the road, struck a utility pole and knocked down traffic lights.
The wreck shut down Westinghouse Boulevard at I-77 in both directions, officers said. Police say it may take several hours before Duke Energy and the North Carolina Department of Transportation can clear the area and repair the traffic lights.
CMPD did not say what time the road is expected to reopen.
