CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A woman says she was robbed and shot during a night out Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood, around North Davidson Street and 36th Street north of uptown.

The woman, who didn't want to be identified, says she was walking down the street about to call an Uber two weeks ago when a man came from behind her, pointed a gun at her face, and demanded her belongings.

She says she dropped her stuff and ran. That's when things escalated.

"He shot at me near my feet. He shot again and the bullet sounded a little louder, like he was aiming for me. And luckily I just started running, I wasn't sure if I got hit," she said.

It turns out she did get hit by a bullet.

The woman sent WBTV photos of a bullet lodged in her leg.

She says she reported the incident to police and said they told her someone matching the suspect's description has committed four or five assaults in the same area recently.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
