CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man being sought in connection to a homicide in Washington, D.C. may be in the Charlotte area.

The FBI is asking for the public's help locating 34-year-old Elliot Avery Starks, who is being sought in connection with the killing of 40-year-old Anita Pratt.

Pratt's body was found brutally stabbed multiple times on the Suitland Parkway-Buena Vista Bike Trail the afternoon of Nov. 8, 2016, the FBI says. The trail is located near the 2600 block of Pomeroy Road, S.E.

Starks is described as a black male around 5'11" and 165 pounds with brown eyes and black hair (balding on top).

Investigators believe Starks may be located in Charlotte, Columbia or Atlanta. He was charged with premeditated first-degree murder while armed on Jan. 6.

"Starks should be considered armed and dangerous," FBI officials say.

Anyone with information about Starts is asked to contact the FBI at 202-278-2000 or the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099. Anonymous information may be submitted via text to 50411.
