Three charged in Iredell County gun, drug bust

IREDELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Three people are facing multiple felony charges in a narcotics investigation. 

Iredell County deputies say they found two men lying next to guns during a search of a home on Rita Avenue Friday morning. 

One man was lying next to a loaded AR-15 rifle and the other was next to a loaded .38 caliber pistol, deputies say. 

Craig Alan Blackwell, 24, Billy Ray Dalton Jr., 26, and Billy Ray Dalton Sr. were all charged in the case. 

During a search of the home, deputies say they found eight loaded guns with numerous rounds of ammunition, crack cocaine, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, and over $1,800 in cash. 

Deputies say three of the guns found had been stolen out of Alexander, Burke and Iredell counties. 

All three men face charges of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony maintain a vehicle/dwelling or place to sell controlled substances and three counts of felony possession of a stolen firearm. 

Blackwell faces an additional charge of felony possession of a firearm by felon. 

All three suspects have a criminal history.
