CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A 10-year-old girl who was injured in a crash that killed two other people in southwest Charlotte died at the hospital one week later, according to officials.

The crash, which involved a tractor-trailer and a Volkswagen Jetta on Steele Creek and Westinghouse Commons Drive, happened just after 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 29.

The two others killed were later identified as 32-year-old Ignacio Cordova, who was driving the Volkswagen, and a 14-year-old male whose name has not been released.

The 10-year-old girl, identified by police as Jaleyah Cordova, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. Officials confirmed Friday, just over a week after the crash, that the girl had passed away. Police say Cordova died Thursday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say the Volkswagen suddenly swerved into the other lane, hitting the semi-truck head-on. The driver of the semi was not injured.

Several witnesses rushed to the scene to try and help after the crash.

Investigators said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash. They are still working to determine if the Volkswagen was speeding at the time.

Police initially said Cordova was 11.
