Warrants: Former employee of Upstate pediatric medical office facing 41 charges

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Department of Health and Environmental Control said a former Upstate medical office employee is facing dozens of charges related to prescription fraud.

Felicia Prysock, 40, was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center on June 9 on 41 charges. Prysock faces 29 counts of violation of drug distribution laws, six counts of obtaining drugs by fraud, four counts of drug/attempt and conspiracy, one count of trafficking heroin/morphine and one count of unlawfully practicing medicine.

According to arrest warrants, Prysock is a former employee of Pediatric Associates of Spartanburg. A spokesperson for the Greenville Health System said Prysock was terminated in March 2016.

DHEC said between April 2016 and June 2017, Prysock is accused of prescribing controlled and non-controlled medications without the authorization of a practitioner. She also obtained more than 28 grams of oxycodone between September 2016 and May 2017 using fraudulent prescriptions, arrest warrants state.

Warrants indicate Prysock filled prescriptions in the names of other people dozens of times at Publix and Walgreens during this time. The prescriptions were written for oxycodone, Adderall, Flonase, Zyrtec, azyithromycin, motelukast and albuterol.

When the alleged practitioner was asked if he or she authorized the medications, DHEC said it was revealed they were unauthorized.

Prysock has since been released from the Spartanburg County Detention Center on bond.
