Teen arrested, man wanted in Statesville shooting

STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -

One of two suspects has been arrested in a Statesville shooting that happened Monday afternoon. 

Statesville police say officers were called just before 5 p.m. to the 300 block of Brevard Street, where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS took the man to Baptist Hospital for treatment. 

Tuesday, 18-year-old Tykeydris Markee Latwan Norris, was arrested in Troutman. The second suspect, 20-year-old Jiceri Sankwan Tucker, is still wanted. 

During the ride to the hospital, the victim told officers that Norris and Tucker attempted to rob him and a struggle ensued before he was shot.

Norris and Tucker each face charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and attempted armed robbery.
