FIRST ALERT: Severe storms with damaging wind possible tonight

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Our next chance for severe storms will arrive tonight from 9 p.m.- 3 a.m. The main threat will be damaging wind up to 70 mph. Hail and intense lightning also possible. 

TODAY: Partly cloudy, windy and warm by afternoon. A stray shower or storm. Winds: S 10-20 mph High: 88

TONIGHT: Scattered showers and storms. Some severe. Main threat damaging wind. Wind: S 10-15 mph Low: 74

SUNDAY: Some rain possible early in the morning, but sun will break out in the afternoon. A few showers or storms will pop up by late afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through. A few storms could be strong between 4 and 9 p.m., mainly in north MS. High temperatures Sunday will reach the lower 80s with lows in the mid 60s.

MEMORIAL DAY: Storms will exit by early Monday morning with clouds clearing during the day and highs reaching the lower 80s with lows falling into the mid 60s.

NEXT WEEK: Tuesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s. Wednesday clouds will increase along with a slight chance of a shower and highs again in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s. Thursday and Friday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain and thunderstorms and highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid to upper 60s.
