Shooting investigation underway in northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

One person was shot in the hand in northwest Charlotte Friday morning. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say officers were called around 3:57 a.m. to the Raceway gas station in the 3800 block of Brookshire Boulevard, near I-85. Police say a woman was shot in the hand, but say the shooting didn't happen at the Raceway. 

The woman went to the hospital and is expected to be OK. 

No arrests have been made. 

There's no word on a possible motive.

    Prominent Charlotte physician Jonathan Christenbury tested positive for cocaine during a drug screening test in November, the N.C. Medical Board disclosed Friday. Christenbury admitted to ingesting the drug in October to alleviate depression, according to a legal notice filed by the board.
