FIRST ALERT: Front could bring more storms Friday

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Showers and storms continue moving in and out of the region this evening. However, late tonight and during the predawn hours Friday a stronger line of thunderstorms will roll through the area and there is a slight risk of severe storms.

The main threat would be from damaging thunderstorm winds. There is a lesser threat of hail and/or an isolated weak tornado. But nothing can be ruled out at this point.

This would be a good time to keep your weather radio on overnight, or the WBTV Weather App by your bedside for any warnings which may be issued. Just go to your app store and search for "WBTV."

The actual front doesn’t move through our area until Friday afternoon, so there could be a parting scattered storm Friday afternoon, but most areas should remain dry from late Friday giving way to a delightful weekend.
