The Carolina Panthers have re-signed another one of their own as they inked free agent defensive end Charles Johnson to a 2 year deal.
"We got 2 years to get it done," said Johnson in a Twitter video on the Carolina Panthers Twitter sight. "I'm going to give you my blood, sweat, and tears. I'm going to give you my all."
Last season, CJ had 26 tackles, 4 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.
He ranks 2nd in Panthers history in sacks with 67.5 and is also 2nd in forced fumbles with 20.
Johnson has spent his entire 10 year career with the Panthers and more than likely will retire with the team after signing this deal.
“It's great to have Charles back," said coach Ron Rivera in a press release provided by the team. "He has spent his entire career with the Panthers, has emerged as a leader for us in the last few years, and is a big part of the reason we’ve had the success we’ve had. We look forward to having Charles continue to be part of our team.”
Johnson is 9 games from becoming the Panthers all time leader in games played by a Carolina defensive lineman. He is currently at 131 games trailing Mike Rucker at 139.
