First Alert Day declared Tuesday

WBTV WBTV
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

* Not As Cold This Morning
* Warm Air Make A Come-Back
* Wet Weather Does Too

It will be a chilly start, with readings in the 30s and 40s across the WBTV viewing area this morning, but that's not nearly as cold as it was over the weekend.  With mainly cloudy skies, highs this afternoon will be in the milder mid-60s.

Mostly cloudy tonight, overnight readings will again be mild for early March, in the upper 40s to low 50s for most neighborhoods.

On Tuesday, temperatures will increase to the upper 60s, but rain chances go up as well. There is a 80% chance of evening showers, some of which will likely be on the heavy side. With that in mind, a First Alert Day has been declared for late Tuesday. The rain chance will carry into the night and wrap up early Wednesday morning as a front plows through the region. The sun will return for Wednesday afternoon and highs will reach the upper 60s to near 70°.

Thursday and Friday will be dry and pleasantly warm with highs in the lower 70s before a rain chance returns over the weekend.
