(RNN) - Snakey the ball python has almost 50,000 Facebook friends and climbing. He's probably the most festive reptile on all of social media - and definitely the most popular.

Because what's funnier than a serpent dressed like Santa Claus or Uncle Sam? Nothing, that's what.

His human, Emma Lacey, lives in California and works for a tech company. She makes all of Snakey’s costumes and photographs him as he celebrates holidays throughout the year.

She got Snakey when he was a baby about four years ago. He is now four-feet long and about as big around as a medium-sized zucchini. Like all ball pythons, he’s docile and about as friendly as snakes get, Emma said.

Snakey is Emma’s only pet, and she dotes on him as much as any dog or cat lover. She has thought of getting another snake or reptile, she said, but she doesn’t want to divide her focus away from him.

“He is enough for me,” she said.

She said she wants to let people know that snakes can be cute, too, and that they should be treated with respect. Especially when they are dressed in a hand-knitted sweater.

You have to admit, Snakey does have a winning smile.
