Patchy freezing fog to start the first day of winter

WBTV WBTV
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

* Patchy Freezing Fog Overnight
* Milder Weather Late Week
* Christmas Weekend Showers

Temperatures across the Charlotte area have dropped into the upper 20's during the overnight hours. And with clear skies and light winds, patchy freezing fog is a possibility in the early hours before sunrise. Fog should burn off very quickly just after sunrise. But slick spots on bridges and overpasses are certainly a concern.

Wednesday recovers quickly with bright skies during the afternoon and temperatures rebound into the mid and upper 50s.  Mild weather sticks with us the remainder of the week with little or no chance of rain.

That changes over Christmas weekend as some showers are likely Saturday, probably earlier in the day though clearing the way for Santa's travels Christmas Eve.

While I can't rule out a stray sprinkle or shower Christmas Day, We are still forecasting mainly dry weather which should be good news for the kids wanting to get outside and test out their new toys.

Have a great day!
