Micah Smith

Hometown: Micah was born in Memphis, TN but grew up in St. Louis, MO.

Education: Micah is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou) where she earned her Bachelor of Journalism degree with an emphasis in broadcast.

Career: Micah joined WBTV News in November 2016 as reporter for WBTV News This Morning.

Before coming to Charlotte, Micah worked at WJHL News Channel 11 in Johnson City, TN as a weekday morning reporter for 3 years.

Prior to working in Johnson City, Micah worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer for KOMU 8 News, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, MO. Micah also interned for NBC's Today Show during the 2012 London Olympics.

Big Coverage: Micah reported on College Football's Biggest Game Ever, The Battle at Bristol at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Micah also reported on a multi-state Amber Alert for Carly Trent, a 10-year-old girl who was kidnapped by her Uncle. The story gained national attention.

Hobbies: Micah loves to travel in her spare time. But most days she's watching a documentary or reading a good book. Micah is a big college football fan and enjoys cheering on the Missouri Tigers in her spare time.

Organizations: Micah is a proud member of the Charlotte Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc..
