WEATHER: Chilly high-pressure system moves in tomorrow

We're starting out damp and cool again, with pockets of dense fog across the WBTV viewing area. Today will feature highs in the mid 50s under variably cloudy skies. That will be our last seasonal day for a few.

Partly cloudy and cold tonight, lows will fall back into the 30s for most as a cold front pushes through the region.

By Thursday, a chilly high pressure system will move into the picture. Highs will be limited to the mid 40s despite plenty of sunshine. It gets even colder on Friday. Lows will start out in the upper teens with highs only getting back to the mid 30s.

The cold air will still be in place Friday night as precipitation approaches from the west. By Saturday morning, temperatures will be in the upper 20s. If the precipitation gets here early enough, we could have a period of light freezing rain. As of now, it doesn't look like a major event, but we are watching it. Either way, highs will reach the low 50s by afternoon with rain becoming more likely.

Sunday will be mild with highs in the mid 60s and rain, perhaps even be a thunderstorm during the afternoon.
