CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A SWAT situation ended with one man dead in northwest Charlotte Tuesday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say officers were called to the 900 block of Sparrow Valley Way around 8 a.m. to locate an armed robbery and assault suspect who had outstanding warrants. Timothy Andre Davis, 18, were accused of attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Police said they located Davis, but he refused to come out of the home. The SWAT team responded and went into the home after numerous attempts to make contact with him.

"Upon entry, they located the suspect deceased due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound," CMPD said.

Davis, along with 18-year-old Antonio Wright, was reportedly wanted in a robbery and assault that happened last Wednesday on Callabridge Court. Wright was arrested Tuesday at a separate location without incident.

The homicide unit is also conducting an investigation into the incident, per standard protocol.
