1 roll (1/2 package) Athens filo dough, (defrosted)
½ cup of cranberry sauce
3 oz. Brie cheese (spreadable is fine)
Cooking spray or 1 stick of butter (melted)
1 bottle of Balsamic reduction or 1 oz. honey
¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Unroll the defrosted fillo dough and place it under a damp kitchen towel or plastic wrap when not in use to prevent dough from drying out.
Lay one sheet of fillo dough on a cutting board. Lightly coat with cooking spray or butter. Top with another sheet of fillo dough and lightly spray (or brush) again. Repeat one more layer of dough and cooking spray.
Cut the dough lengthwise into thirds. Place ½ teaspoon of cheese and ½ teaspoon of cranberry sauce about an inch from the bottom section of the dough. Fold the dough on top of the cheese and cranberry sauce to form a triangle and continue to fold until the end of the dough is reached. Repeat with the other 2 layered sheets of dough.
Repeat with the remaining dough, cheese, and cranberry sauce.
Bake until the turnovers are golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
When removed from the oven, lightly drizzle the Balsamic reduction (or honey) over the tops of the turnovers and top with the chopped nuts.
Garnish with your favorite herb, and serve immediately.
